Mission

We love God by serving our neighbors.

We are blessed to have Christ's love in our lives, and we want to share that love with the world around us. Following Christ means feeding the hungry, welcoming the stranger, and helping others in need find support. God is good, and we get to be a part of that goodness!

Our mission is to engage and serve the world in which we live. We do that with a variety of mission projects in our community, and in partnership with ministries around the world. Want to get involved? Talk to Pastor Katie or our Mission Team about where you can jump in!

Our Mission Efforts Milan Christian Food Pantry

We are pleased to be one of the founding congregations of the Milan Christian Food Pantry. As well as serving on the board of directors, we assist to provide funding and volunteers to fight hunger in our community. The pantry is open on Monday mornings and Thursday afternoons, with grocery delivery available for those who are homebound.

Meals Served at St. Joe Feeding Site at Rock Island Township Hall

We deliver and serve tasty and nutritious meals to this community site, where people can nourish their stomachs and their hearts as they gather. Our cooks take great pride in preparing meals with plenty for all to share.

Milan on the Move Van Ministry

We deliver groceries in our van for those who cannot get to the Food Pantry. The van is also available to nonprofits to use in their own ministries - we are happy that our van provides transportation for World Relief's ESL program, special events, and more!

Mission Collections and Donations

Every season we select a local group in our area that is making a positive impact in people's lives. We lead donation drives for items that would be helpful to them and then add a check from our mission budget to offer our care and support into the community. Some of our regular aid recipients are Martha's House, Churches United, QC Animal Welfare Shelter, and Spring Forward Learning Center.

Scout Pack 242

We are enthusiastic sponsors of our scout pack, providing the space where they meet, as well as our presence and support of their various fundraising efforts. Our troop is one of the few BSA girls' troops in the Quad Cities, and we are proud of their focus on service for the community.

World Relief

Our congregation has provided support to World Relief's refugees and immigrants through several different events. We have prepared an apartment for Afghan refugees, provided transportation to dialysis for a refugee family, and most recently helped at a Thanksgiving Celebration!

Presbyterian Mission

Outside of the Quad Cities, we support ministries around the world in partnership with the broader Presbyterian Church (USA). We collect offerings and budget donations for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and support for retired clergy and students of color through the Christmas Joy Offering.
